My last post wasn’t as divinely-focused, so I figured I would make this post all about Him. He is everything and everywhere. With enough faith and belief that He is real, you can do things that you didn’t even think was possible. I’m going to show you a few ways to get to know Him better. Things that I have found to be helpful
- One way to connect more with God is to be in nature. I constantly take walks in the park and I go to the beach. During those times I try to enjoy the feeling of pure bliss one feels when seeing God in everything. He created it all. And it is good to appreciate all of nature. Nature talks to us, in a way. The bee that just flew past is on a mission to grab pollen from flowers and goes back to his hive where thousands of bees are, and they’re all made by the queen. That is beautiful. The 50 foot tree, it’s roots extending even further underneath me, which has seen so many storms and wild meteorological events is a beautiful thing. Through this beauty, you see God. God is in every leaf, every bug, every water source. To go on a hike and forget about the world and marvel at nature is one of my favorite things to do. I suggest you try it as well.
- Another great way I get closer to God is to connect with someone who has a great relationship with God already. Having someone like that in your life is one of the best ways to see Him, I think. For instance, I was at the doctors the other day and the Nurse Practitioner just happened to see my cross necklace and made a comment about how much He helps in not only bodily health, but every health you can imagine. Spiritual, emotional, mental, metaphysical, He does it all. There have been other times when people have crossed my path and have filled me with the light of the Lord. Seeking someone, like a priest or nun or pastor is a great relationship to have.
- Yet another way to communicate with God is through journaling to Him. You can just go through your day if you don’t know what to write. Just keep in mind His impact on your life and if you have problems, know that He will fix them. For instance, it’s kind of like what I do on this blog, I just write the thing I am experiencing and how it relates to God. What I mean is that it’s not just a mundane process of transferring thoughts to paper. It is the transmission of thoughts, observations, and perceptions of our daily life and events let out of our head. After you do that, God can see what it is that truly troubles you, and He will give you some sort of help. Journaling makes me feel so much lighter after having done it. Try it out!
- Finally, the last way you can communicate with God. I saved this one for last because it seems like a no-brainer, but it still has its difficulties. And the subject of this bullet point is simply talking to God yourself. I try to talk to God as if he is a close and loving friend. And yet he is a friend that is is all powerful and all knowing. In viewing things this way, it is different than praying or obligation, it is a conversation with God. Prayer is a one way relationship. Talking suggests a conversation is happening. You might see God actually talk back to you. This is a great thing!
You can talk to God:
- In your head
- Out loud
- In a grocery store
- Waiting for a bus
- While stuck in traffic
Just talk to God the way you are most comfortable. But always treat Him as a true friend. Tell Him your hopes and dreams, difficulties and successes, and make sure you thank Him for everything he does for you. Thank you everyone, I hope this post helped you a little bit, and I wish you all the best. Peace
